About The Role
Reporting to the Director of Sales, QT Auckland is searching for an experienced and passionate Business Development Manager focused securing new business and retaining existing accounts, while maximising revenue growth and market share from each individual account and enquiry via building strong relationships with clients and partners. The role covers all sales market segments, including corporate (primary), inbound, groups and MICE. With proven performance, there is scope for this role to develop into a senior position within the sales team.
Responsibilities
- Take charge and lead proactive, and reactive sales for the hotel to assist in driving demand by securing new business and growing market share from existing accounts across corporate, inbound, MICE and groups.
- Maintain regular transparent lines of communication with the Director of Sales regarding current work being undertaken and future initiatives.
- Be familiar with VIP and Group arrivals and departures and ensure that all preparations are ready for them and all appropriate team members are briefed on all special requests and circumstances.
- Actively pursue opportunities to convert MICE & room night leads, and successfully shift business from the competition through active engagement with the customer via face to face or verbal conversations
- Assist national sales with the tender & contracting of rates throughout the year, and maintain an up-to-date tender listing of relevant business won, lost or pending.
- In conjunction with the Director of Sales, develop a range of initiatives and products that differentiates QT Auckland in the marketplace.
- Support sales initiatives with site inspections, client entertainment, familiarisations, and other events. Flexible working schedule as entertaining and trade events will occur at different times on alternate days of the week, weekends included.
Skills & experience
Experience in the hotel or travel industry with a minimum of two years working within a similar role is requiredHighly skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with high-profile corporate clientsAdvanced negotiation and closing experienceA track record of driving revenue by strategic planning and executing business initiativesExcellent communication (verbally & written) & presentation skills with a polished and professional demeanourStrong analytical skills to assess market trends and identify sales opportunitiesResults focused with a proven ability to achieve sales targetsExperience in iVvy, Opera, PowerBI and Agency360 will be highly regardedBenefits
