OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced leader to take ownership of their Cyber Security Operations, providing strategic and operational leadership across a 24 / 7 Security Operations Centre (SOC).
This role is critical in protecting systems, data, people and brand by overseeing incident response, threat intelligence and operational excellence.Our client is a leading provider of critical infrastructure in New Zealand, delivering utility solutions across a large network, with a strong focus on safety, resilience and sustainability.About The RoleLead and inspire a high-performing team within Cyber Security Operations.Oversee daily monitoring, detection, and response to security threats.Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of new technologies and industry best practices.Act as a key escalation point during cybersecurity incidents, guiding incident response and crisis management.Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and internal teams to strengthen security capabilities.About You5+ years' leadership or management experience within a SOC environment.Strong knowledge of frameworks and tools (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, EDR / XDR, SOAR / SIEM).
Hands-on experience with incident response processes and procedures.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.Proven ability to deliver projects in fast-paced, collaborative environments.Relevant degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security) and certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar).
