About the Role
Following a recent change to the inpatient allied health leadership structure at Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley, this new role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take the next step in their leadership journey.
This operational role supports the leadership and management of the inpatient Social Work team at Hutt Hospital, and works closely with other allied health leaders to deliver a high quality, sustainable service.
This is a 0.7FTE leadership role (28 hours / week).

About the Team / Service Location
This role sits within the Inpatient Allied Health Leadership Team, a team of eleven Team Leaders led by the Inpatient Allied Health Service Manager.
This team provides profession and site-based operational leadership at Wellington and Hutt Hospitals, and leadership of the multidisciplinary allied health team at Kenepuru Hospital.
Whilst this role will be based at Hutt Hospital, we are strengthening our identity as a strong district-wide team, so there will opportunities to connect with colleagues at other sites, and to collaborate on projects and initiatives to maximise the delivery of services across the wider district.
The Social Work team at Hutt Hospital works across a range of inpatient settings, completing psychosocial assessments to support patients and whanau with the impact of their admission and treatment, and work in close partnership with their multi-disciplinary colleagues to facilitate supportive and safe discharge from hospital.
You will have close links with the district-wide Professional Leader for Social Work, the inpatient Social Work Coordinator, the Social Work Team Leader for Wellington Hospital, and the wider Social Work team across the district.
About you
You will be a Social Worker with at least 6 years of practice, including in a health or other relevant setting.
You may have specific operational leadership experience, but if not then you will be able to demonstrate how your previous roles have grown your leadership skills in other areas.
You will have a demonstrated commitment to service development and quality improvement, and a strong ability to build relationships and establish connections with people from a wide range of services, settings, and backgrounds.
You will value continuing professional development and be keen to seek out learning opportunities to grow your skills as a leader.
You will be able to apply a strong equity lens to the work of the team, and work collaboratively to maximise our health outcomes for Maori.
