  • About the Role
  • It - s an exciting time for Allied Health in Greater Wellington! We have recently created across Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District Allied Health Professional Leader roles. The Professional Leader Social Work role provides professional leadership for the Social Work profession and kaimahi in physical health, with a focus on clinical leadership and governance, workforce development, safe and high-quality care, outcomes focussed practice and integration that supports strategic development and organisational priorities. The role holder will be someone who enjoys working across teams and services, providing mentoring and expert advice, has a continual improvement focus, is innovative with the ability to influence.
  • About the Team / Service Location
  • The Professional Leader Social Work role works in a collective team alongside Professional Leaders for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Speech Language Therapy and Psychology across district, teams, settings and sites under the Chief Allied Health, Scientific & Technical Office. Together they provide professional leadership with a focus on clinical leadership to guide and support their profession to improve outcomes for patients and whānau, deliver our district wide vision and support the organisation to meet health targets and strategic priorities. Professional Leaders are required to remain closely connected and informed regarding current clinical practice and remain clinically competent.
  • About you
  • Expectation of at least 6 years practice working in a health or other relevant setting, with a relevant qualification in Social Work with current APC (essential).
  • You - ll have commitment and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi (and application to health) and a willingness to work positively in improving health outcomes for Māori
  • You - ll have advanced clinical experience and knowledge.
  • You - ll have demonstrated leadership skills or potential including experience of leading, motivating and developing others.
