This includes interpreting and responding to an environment of fast-paced policy and legislative change across a wide range of issues and finding cost effective ways to deliver quality public services to growing communities.

Responsibilities
Drive the development and delivery of a strategic framework through environmental scanning and indicators monitoring to identify wellbeing issues for the Council to address through its various roles and functions.
Lead key strategy development and implementation, especially in relation to economic development, town centres and sustainability.
Support the Council's participation in collaborative strategy and policy development processes at regional and sub-regional levels.
Oversee the development and monitoring of the Council's corporate planning documents, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and objectives.
Provide senior relationship management advice and support for business sector interaction with the Council's regulatory functions and services.
Provide high quality advice across the Council to support the development of corporate policies, bylaws, and cost-effectiveness reviews aimed at achieving community outcomes.
Inspire and empower the team, uphold the Council's values, maintain a solutions-focused attitude, and work with diverse partners with often conflicting interests.
Demonstrate authenticity, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a willingness to share, contribute and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.
