Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner - Construction
We are seeking a highly engaged Health, Safety and Well-Being Business Partner to join our dynamic team. Partnering with our Airside Infrastructure Teams you will bring your Health, Safety & Wellbeing expertise to help us ensure great safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Infrastructure HSW Lead to deliver on their HSW outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Airfield Infrastructure team, providing expert guidance on health and safety (H&S) matters.
- Deliver H&S work plan, aligned with Auckland Airport’s overall safety strategy.
- Promote a culture of proactive risk management and continuous safety improvement.
- Support implementation of risk assessments and conduct safety audits for airfield projects and infrastructure works.
- Support or lead investigations into construction-related incidents, near misses, and safety breaches.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and airport operations teams to integrate safety into all operations activities.
- Champion a people-first mindset across project teams and contractors.
- Stay updated on global best practices in health and safety for aviation operations.
- Identify and implement new technologies or methodologies to enhance safety performance.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience5+ years experience in HS&W roles, with experience in a construction environmentAirfield construction experience would be desirableNZISM membership and HASANZ registration desirableA strong leader and team player, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functional linesSound business writing and verbal communication skillsA customer-centric mindset coupled with excellent relationship-building skillsDemonstrated success in influencing change and achieving positive outcomesAbility to think strategically and manage business complexitySound working knowledge of relevant legal frameworks in New ZealandAbout Us
