Health and Safety Business Partner - Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga

If you're passionate about building a positive safety culture and want to make a real impact, this is the opportunity for you! We are looking for a full-time Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team, supporting our regional operations and technical disciplines across the Tonkin + Taylor Group.

In this role, you'll be a trusted advisor and strategic partner, working closely with leaders and teams to embed a proactive and positive health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) culture. You'll also collaborate with our national H&S team to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with statutory, industry and client-specific requirements. You'll be naturally curious, approachable, and bring true care into your work. The ideal candidate will be a people-person with a knack for building relationships.

A requirement of this role is to travel between Tauranga, Hamilton and Auckland on a regular basis to continue fostering strong relationships amongst our teams. This could mean regular travel, but we want to be flexible for the right candidate.

• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and teams on health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring HSW requirements are built into project planning and delivery
• Develop and maintain HSW systems, procedures and risk assessments
• Lead incident investigations, manage corrective actions and support the incident management process
• Mentor and support Health & Safety Representatives, Location Representatives and Wellbeing Champions
• Oversee contractor and supplier HSW pre-qualification and performance monitoring
• Support injury management and return-to-work programmes in collaboration with our Occ Health and Wellbeing team
• Conduct audits and inspections, identifying and supporting improvement opportunities
• Monitor legislative changes and support WorkSafe liaison when required
