Overview

Youthmix is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering youth through education, mentorship, coaching and community engagement. Our mission is "Empowering youth to thrive and excel in their careers". At Youthmix, we are building a community where every young person has the resources, opportunities, and support to achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and logistical requirements. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
  • Work closely with speakers, performers, and other participants to ensure their needs are met and they are prepared for the event. Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in promoting events through various channels, including social media, email marketing, and community outreach. Assist with developing promotional materials and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Manage the event, ensuring all elements are executed as planned. Troubleshoot any issues that arise and provide support to attendees and participants.
  • Collect feedback and assess the success of each event. Prepare reports on event outcomes, including attendee satisfaction and areas for improvement.

What You'll Need

  • Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring all aspects of the event are executed flawlessly.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop engaging event concepts and address any challenges that arise.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and external partners, to achieve event goals.
  • A passion for Youthmix’s mission and a commitment to creating positive and impactful experiences for our community.

  • Time Commitment

    The team holds a 1-hour virtual catch-up meeting every four weeks on a Monday, from 6-7pm. This meeting is designed for the team to connect, collaborate, and plan upcoming work. Outside of this scheduled meeting and events you are coordinating, your involvement is highly flexible, allowing you to choose how much time you dedicate to assisting the organisation. We have ongoing business-as-usual tasks that require regular support, as well as non-urgent project work that can be completed at your convenience.
