Overview

Chanel College is a Catholic, co-educational, state-integrated secondary school (Y7–13), located in Masterton. We seek a passionate and skilled teacher of te reo Māori and cultural performing arts who will inspire students through language and cultural expression. This is a part-time (0.5 FTTE), permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach te reo Māori at various curriculum levels (Y7–13).
  • Lead the development of Māori and Tangata Moana performing arts within the school.
  • Foster cultural pride, unity and understanding through kapa haka, Pasifika performing arts and other cultural initiatives that reflect the identity of our students and community.
  • Support, uphold and be positively involved in the special character of the school.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching te reo Māori and cultural performing arts.
  • Ability to engage students across Year 7–13 and lead co-curricular cultural activities.
  • Strong commitment to the school’s ethos and community engagement.
