Overview

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Middle leadership in Te reo Māori. 2MU + 2MMA

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and dedicated kaiako to join our team as Leader of Learning and kaiako in the Wharekura. In 2025, there is around 150 ākonga learning within the Wharekura section of Wainuiomata High School.

Leader of Learning responsibilities include :

  • Assessment guidance across the junior and senior curriculum
  • Supporting a team of kaiako teaching rumaki and reorua courses
  • Middle leadership input across the range of academic activities within the wharekura and wider school

Indicative kaupapa ako : Reo Māori, Hauora, Hākinakina, Ngā Toi, Tikanga ā-Iwi, Pūoro, Pūtaiao, Pāngarau, Hangarau. These are flexible to exchange amongst the other kaiako and subjects we offer in 2025. You will be supported to develop the programme of learning by other kaiako teaching the same course. If you have specialist expertise or leadership experience these aspects can be negotiated into your programme.
