We are seeking an exceptional and inspiring Te Ao Maori learning area lead to join our vibrant kura.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the learning area, drive excellent and equitable outcomes for our akonga, and provide school-wide cultural leadership.
As the Te Ao Maori learning area lead, you will be responsible for :
Leading the learning area, ensuring the design and delivery of a responsive, engaging, and pedagogically sound curriculum.
Guiding our kura in giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and supporting the development of te reo and Tikanga Maori for staff and students.
Providing cultural guidance and support across the school
Being a key point of contact for our Maori community.
You will be a fully registered teacher in New Zealand with :
Demonstrated fluency in te reo Maori, with the pedagogical content knowledge to teach te reo Maori to NCEA Level 3 and Scholarship level and / or te reo Rangatira.
A deep understanding of, and confidence in, leading tikanga Maori.
Proven ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and whanau.
A commitment to collaborative practice and the professional growth of colleagues.
This is a vital leadership role for our kura, offering the chance to make a significant impact on our school community and the success of our akonga.
New staff to WEGC are supported through a strong induction programme across their first year at the college.
