Experienced teacher Permanent, full time
We’re seeking an experienced, talented Scale A teacher to join our awesome team from the start of 2026. You’ll work in our middle–senior area in a kura where learning is exciting, community matters, and every day brings something new.
Eketāhuna School is a well-resourced rural gem. Our students have access to digital devices, a heated swimming pool, astro turf, and upgraded classroom spaces. We’re a small school with a big heart, where teachers support one another and share ideas. While we teach in single-cell classrooms, we work collaboratively to plan, reduce workload, and ensure consistent, high-quality learning across the school.
We’re looking for a proven high-quality teacher who designs engaging, purposeful learning and builds strong relationships with their students while setting clear, positive expectations. Someone who is culturally responsive, inclusive, and committed to supporting each learner to succeed. A good sense of humour and a flexible approach will go a long way in our busy and dynamic school environment.
We offer a supportive, collegial staff. We take a thoughtful, manageable approach to the refreshed curriculum and provide both professional growth opportunities and leadership pathways. For the right candidate, management units (MUs) will be available for proven strengths in leading school-wide areas. We also have a great school house available.
Start term 1 with us at Eketāhuna School—where you’ll find a friendly team, great students, and a fantastic place to teach!
