Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.
To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions : effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role
Through the Firearms Registry, we are strengthening how we manage firearms and other arms items in New Zealand. All firearms licence holders are now required to register arms items in their possession through digital or non-digital channels.
As an Arms Administrator - Registry you will play an integral role in improving public safety. You will be the main point of contact for Te Tari Pūreke and the Registry, providing exceptional customer experience and support via our digital and non-digital channels as well as fulfilling back-office functions.

Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700 hrs. Some flexibility between these hours will be required with six-week rotational shifts with starting times from 0800, 0830 and 0900.

We as the firearms regulator, collaborate closely with both the Ministry of Justice and NZ Police. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy advice and system oversight and NZ Police is responsible for law enforcement function.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $63,526.00
