Overview
We are looking for a Principal to lead communications, engagement and stakeholder management on one of Auckland's largest infrastructure and urban regeneration delivery programmes, a thirty-year plan.
This is a key strategic role in a team delivering high quality communications, community and stakeholder engagement to support the planning and delivery of the rail level crossings programme, which is essential to grow rail services while keeping traffic moving and improving safety.
You will bring deep and innovative technical experience, provide strategic advice, manage reputation risks and build trusted relationships with the community and stakeholders.
You will be focused on high quality engagement to support the planning of new infrastructure that works for communities.
You will guide and mentor team members and consultants, manage reputation risks and manage stakeholder relationships.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, partners and customers to build advocacy, help decision makers deliver informed outcomes and support successful consenting processes.
You will join the Partnerships & Engagement Directorate which is responsible for outstanding partnerships, engagement, marketing and communications.
We represent the voices of customers and communities to ensure AT keeps them at the heart of all it does, sharing and amplifying great stories to effect change and grow understanding.

You will bring 8-10 years relevant experience in a communication and engagement role including leadership of a team or a major project's communications and engagement, alongside :
Proven track record of developing and delivering communication and engagement strategies for high profile and complex programmes in transport, infrastructure or a related area.
Experience delivering community and stakeholder engagement to support successful business cases, consenting and delivery of large infrastructure projects
Experience providing strategic advice in a fast- paced environment and identifying and managing risk.
Strong relationship skills to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
Strong resilience, optimism and empathy.
Experience delivering customer focused outcomes.
IAP2 training or knowledge is preferred.
