RoleLiteracy Facilitator Intensive Support ServicePermanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)Service operates, Monday – Friday 8 : 00am to 4 : 00pm.Position is based from either our Otahuhu or New Lynn service, with the work happening across both sitesPay Equity : $25.00ph - $31.50ph (depending on qualification held and its equivalence to the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing L4)Ember values our employees - they are our secret sauce and we are committed to doing the best we can do for our kaimahi.

Support Workers collaborate with clients to set and achieve personal goals, employing behavioural interventions and strength-based approaches to facilitate reintegration into the community.We work in partnership with residential services to provide an all-encompassing array of supportive services to facilitate the client on their pathway to rehabilitation.Role | Nga mahiAs a Literacy Facilitator, you will primarily be responsible for developing content, activities, and resources that are tailored to the individual needs of clients, as well as facilitating programmes that support and empower our whaiora to build skills in a wide range of literacies—including reading and writing, numerical literacy, and financial literacyYou will on occasion also support on a 1 : 1 basis to support whaiora to build general life skills, combining client-centred goals with behavioural interventions to provide clients with a sense of identity and self-confidence, and the practical skills needed to lead successful lives within the community of their choice.

Responsibilities include : Facilitating the development of a range of skills that promote community participation and successful entry to the mainstream labour marketIdentifying needs, setting goals, providing support, role-modelling, and coaching, with a focus in particular on assessing needs, setting goals, and facilitating the growth of literacy and numeracy skillsFacilitating the design, delivery, and evaluation of literacy programmes, including building content, activities, and resources that meet whaiora's needsProviding or coordinating one-on-one and / or group support and training that assists an individual with high and complex needs to develop interpersonal and pre-vocational skills that improves their quality of life and enables them to live within their community of choiceBeing comfortable with work activities that are of a physical nature and may involve active participation in sports and restraints of clients.You will | Nga PukengaHave a New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy, or a similar relevant qualification, or experience in a relevant field such as teaching, tutoring, vocational literacy training, teaching assistance (required)Hold a Full NZ Drivers Licence (required)Have a valid / current work visa, residency, or citizenship (required)Have or be working towards a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent (preferred)Have experience working with intellectual disability and complex behaviours (preferred)Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate, adapt to and engage a wide spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, ages, intellectual abilities, and cultures (required)Have a passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery (required)When applying please have | Kia WhakauruUp to date CV preparedCover Letter detailing : Why you're interested in the role?
