Community Engagement and Health Promotion AdvisorCommunity Engagement and Health Promotion Advisor - BreastScreen Waitemata NorthlandFull-time (1 FTE, 80 hours per fortnight)Monday to Friday(with occasional weekend and evenings required to attend community events)Based in Northwest, AucklandAbout UsBreastScreen Waitemata Northland is part of Health New Zealand's free national BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA) Programme.

We screen over 45,000 wahine each year, and we pride ourselves on consistently delivering a positive experience for our clients.About the RoleIn this role you will support, promote and maximize opportunities for eligible women, to participate in the BSA Programme.

The role has a particular focus on support for Maori and Pacific women as well as strengthening connections with primary care.You will be required to work alongside organisations and communities that have an existing relationship with those wahine and their whanau.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with those organisations and supporting them to enable women to get screened.About YouWe are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate for this dynamic role, you will have experience in community engagement and evaluation of health promotion programs and campaigns.You will also possess well developed communication skills and be able to build relationships effectively with community and professional groups.To be considered for the role, you will need;Relevant qualification in health science, health promotion or a similar areaFull clean driving licenceExisting networks with primary and community health providersHave a sound understanding of cultural models careBe an interactive team playerWhile your qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still.
