OverviewProfessional Teaching Fellow Team Lead - Business Communication at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deliver embedded business communication capabilities that improve student learning outcomes and graduate employability across undergraduate programmes.Provide collaborative pedagogical support to academic staff.Implement culturally responsive teaching practices for diverse student populations.Support assessment redesign initiatives that embed communication skills within disciplinary content rather than delivering them through separate support services.QualificationsPostgraduate qualification in English, language, communication, or a related discipline.
Qualifications in other fields may be considered depending on relevant expertise.Significant relevant tertiary teaching experience in language teaching, academic literacies, and communication skills.SkillsA strong understanding of approaches to developing academic and professional communication skills.A strong understanding of interactive and experiential learning techniques.Familiarity with conventions in both academic and business writing (e.g., citations, structures, and style).
Experience in instructional and assessment design including scaffolded and formative assessment.High sensitivity to diverse cultures.Strong commitment to education and the development of professionals.Excellent communication, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.What we offerFlexible employment practices (including working from home and flexible hours).
