We collect, analyse and assess intelligence to protect New Zealand from threats such as foreign interference, espionage and terrorism.
The role
Provide expert advice to help our customers uplift their security maturity and protect people, information and assets.
We are looking for an experienced advisor to join the Protective Security Requirements (PSR) Advisory and Partnerships team.
In this role you will bring your strong relationship management and advisory skills to work as part of a collegiate and joined up PSR Unit providing protective security advice to a range of New Zealand government and non-government entities.
While your day-to-day will see you helping our customers to strengthen resilience to threats through improved protective security capability and maturity, you may also contribute to other key PSR work streams, including lifting awareness of the foreign interference and espionage threat in New Zealand, and building protective security capability in the Pacific region.
Qualifications
Who we\'re looking for
You will bring :
Strong relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to influence thinking and behaviour, and secure buy-in from external stakeholders.
Experience providing effective and impactful advice and guidance to customers, including an ability to understand their requirements, analyse their feedback, and translate this into policy development.
A strong customer service ethic and collaborative approach, with a track record of creating and sustaining collegial and effective working relationships.
Existing protective security or risk management experience is desirable, but not essential.
We provide on-the-job training to help you become a protective security subject matter expert.
We are looking for versatile team players with the drive, skill and commitment to achieve customer service excellence through the provision of expert and effective protective security advice.
This role may also require you to travel overseas from time to time to deliver Pacific capability building activities.

Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you\'re eligible for employment.
You must :
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
Ordinarily, this means you\'ll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.

Salary Band G $87,048 (90%) - $111,228 (115%), Band H $103,009 (90%) - $131,622 (115%), Band I $120,358 (90%) - $153,791 (115%).
