We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor to provide subject matter expertise on a range of information requests for our People Group.

The newly created Senior Advisor : Information & Privacy forms a critical part of our newly established Policy, Systems, and Change Centre of Excellence in the People Strategy Directorate.

You will be a specialist, and responsible for supporting People Group with the management of information requests, such as Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs), privacy requests, and Official Information Act (OIAs) requests.

You will ensure high quality responses are delivered by supporting the wider team with training, advice and guidance.

While you will not always hold the pen, you will be a critical driver to ensure that responses are managed within the expected service level timelines.

With a holistic lens across People Group information requests, you will apply your risk radar to identify and mitigate potential risks for us.

Your work will directly influence People Group's performance in our information requests and provide leaders with trust and confidence in our compliance.

This is a high-impact role requiring exceptional stakeholder engagement, and the ability to communicate in writing.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Proven experience providing high-quality advice and guidance to customers, peers, and key leaders.
  • A strong background in handling Written Parliamentary Questions, privacy requests, and official information requests.
  • Skilled with the ability to connect, engage, inform, and negotiate across diverse stakeholders and leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and assess potential risk and escalate as required to Senior Leaders and teams.
  • A collaborative style, with an ability to influence outcomes, and provide leaders with confidence.

  • Proven experience in managing Written Parliamentary Questions, privacy requests, and other information requests.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions and conclusion.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, and an ability to connect, engage, inform, and negotiate effectively across diverse stakeholders and leadership levels.

    Utu a-tau | Salary

    This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
