The Policy Capability programme supports all policy professionals across MBIE and focuses on building the skills, tools, processes and enablers required to deliver high-quality policy advice consistently to Ministers.
It also ensures the successful delivery of MBIEs regulatory impact analysis review and policy quality assurance panels (Te Ara Poutama) for the organisation.The Senior Advisor has diverse responsibilities, including the following key focus areas : Supporting the development and implementation of new policy capability initiatives with a particular focus on regulation compliance and guidance, working with the Ministry for Regulation and MBIEs internal Regulatory Assurance and Performance team.Leading on MBIE's internal regulatory impact analysis panels and policy quality assurance processes.Updates to internal guidance and training materials and running training for panel members and chairs.This is a great opportunity to build on your policy skills and experience to advance your understanding of regulation and regulatory impact analysis.Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana -Skills and Experience RequiredThorough understanding of regulatory systems and frameworks particularly driving understanding and compliance of regulatory changes in coordination with the Ministry for Regulation and MBIEs Regulatory Assurance and Performance team.Strong knowledge and experience of regulatory impact analysis requirements.Knowledge and understanding of the policy profession and machinery of government.Experience working within and across government agencies.Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.Significant proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new systems.Excellent communication (written, visual and oral) skills, including ability to summarise and convey key points from large amounts of information.
