Job descriptionAn in-depth understanding of operational Public Health at a local, regional and national level within the NPHS A passion for realising the benefits of technology supported public health. An understand or willingness to develop understanding of privacy considerations across health technology systems including the application of the Privacy Act 2020. A background in high level technical writing, including papers, minutes, reports, aide memoires and policy The ability to adeptly build and maintain relationships with complex stakeholder groups, managing their expectations, and keeping them informed About the Team / Service / Location The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga / wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. About you You'll be an adaptive, pragmatic and action focused individual. A relevant tertiary qualification, and a minimum of four years' experience or, a minimum of seven years' appropriate equivalent experience Experience, knowledge and skills in relation to working with Maori and Pacific peoples / communities / stakeholders Experience in implementing and evaluating Te Tiriti o Waitangi into work Proven relationship management and influencing skills Experience, in the design and managed a project of work and resources Programme management and administration skills, effectively coordinating multiple activities and ability to plan and monitor outcome achievement Experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice Professionalism, including effective inter-personal communication, teamwork, accountability, self-management, time and risk management Strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiences Developing knowledge and skills to deal effectively with complex and politically sensitive situations or topics. - The Senior Advisor role sits in the Major Projects team within the Protection Directorate of the National Public Health Service (NPHS).
