Overview
Pinehurst School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Library Manager to lead one of our most valued resources – our School Library. This is a unique opportunity to foster a love of reading, support inquiry-based learning, and create a vibrant hub for students, staff, and the wider Pinehurst community. The Library Manager will oversee the daily operations of the library, manage a small team, and ensure the library remains a welcoming, innovative, and well-utilised space. You’ll be instrumental in promoting literacy, supporting curriculum needs, and integrating digital resources into learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Library Leadership & Management : Oversee daily library operations and maintain a warm, inclusive environment.
- Library Systems : Manage library systems including Access.it and ensure accurate cataloguing and reporting.
- Staff Supervision : Supervise two library staff and a team of student librarians.
- Resource & Budget Management : Administer the library budget and lead resource selection and purchasing.
- Digital Resources : Maintain and promote digital platforms including eBooks and Epic databases.
- Student & Staff Engagement : Support students in discovering books they love and using library resources effectively.
- Curriculum Collaboration : Collaborate with teachers to integrate research skills into the curriculum and act as a consultant for curriculum development and resource support.
- Promotion & Events : Organise and promote events such as Book Week and exhibitions; maintain library communications via School Box and Access.it; report termly on library usage and development.
What We’re Looking For
