Are you passionate about turning customer insights into strategic impact?

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to join our newly formed Brand Centre of Excellence. As Manager – Research and Propositions, you’ll lead a team of technical experts and play a pivotal role in embedding customer insights into critical decisions across the organisation.

You’ll champion a customer-led culture by delivering actionable insights that shape brand strategy, marketing performance, and brand experience for our AMI and State brands. This role is central to identifying and validating opportunities to attract new customers, improve experiences, and drive retention across the organisation. You’ll influence decision-making through data storytelling, lead brand insights and market research programmes, and support the development of brand aligned propositions as part of our Connected Customer ambition.

This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role, with flexibility to be based anywhere across Aotearoa New Zealand.

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years’ experience in research, insights, or analytics (agency or client-side), with expertise in mixed-method programmes
• 5+ years’ proven leadership experience, managing and mentoring high-performing teams
• Strong background in market sizing, segmentation, and opportunity analysis to inform strategy
• Skilled at translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business impact
• Confident influencing senior stakeholders and shaping strategic decisions
• Experience with customer panels, brand trackers, VoC reporting, and performance analytics
• Advanced proficiency in research tools, survey platforms, and data visualisation
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions
• Excellent storytelling and communication skills, including board-level reporting
• Knowledge of compliance standards, research ethics, and supplier management
• Relevant degree or postgrad qualification (e.g. marketing, business, psychology, data analytics)
