About the role
Reporting to the Contract Manager, this is a chance to lead the delivery of facilities services for our Wellington City Council contract.
You'll be responsible for ensuring services are safe, compliant, and delivered to a high standard across a diverse property portfolio.
This role is designed as a growth opportunity ideal for someone with facilities coordination or property operations experience who's ready to step into their first Facilities Manager role.
Equally, it's a great fit for an FM professional seeking to broaden their scope in a complex, high-profile public environment.
You'll manage subcontractors, oversee maintenance schedules, monitor performance against KPIs, and act as the trusted point of contact for our client.
Alongside day-to-day delivery, you'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping us deliver smarter, more sustainable outcomes for the city.
What you'll do
Lead the daily delivery of facilities services across Council sites
Act as the key point of contact for client stakeholders and site leads
Manage subcontractor performance, safety, and quality outcomes
Oversee maintenance schedules, permits, and compliance activities
Monitor KPIs and contribute to monthly reporting and service reviews
Support project scoping, variations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in the on-call roster for escalations
What you'll bring
Experience in facilities coordination, property operations, or Facilities Management
Confidence managing contractors and juggling multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and a client-focused, professional manner
Competence with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn FM systems
A proactive, improvement-focused mindset and readiness to lead delivery
Full Class 1 Driver's Licence
