OverviewWe're on a mission to ensure our community facilities are safe, compliant, and future-ready - and your expertise will be key.

As our Facilities Advisor in the Assets & Facilities Management team, you'll provide advice on compliance, security, and facility renewal planning.

This ensures Council facilities meet legislative requirements, while supporting the ongoing renewal and development of our community facility network.No two days will be the same - you'll work across a diverse range of facilities, from libraries to sports grounds, ensuring they remain safe, accessible, and welcoming.

You'll also play a vital role in supporting lease management, procurement, and health and safety, making a real difference to the way our facilities serve the community.ResponsibilitiesMonitor compliance with legislation, Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) requirements, and Council policiesSupport the preparation and submission of building consents and exemptionsMaintain oversight of security systems and coordinate access protocolsSupport lease management for Council-owned facilities, ensuring tenant obligations are metAssist with procurement and contract management of facility-related goods and servicesPromote health, safety, and wellbeing across all facilitiesYou willAbout YouYou're a proactive and organised facilities professional who thrives on problem-solving and relationship building.

You'll bring practical facilities management experience and a strong understanding of compliance and health & safety requirements.You Will HaveProven experience in facilities or property management (public sector experience an advantage)Knowledge of building consentsKnowledge of building compliance (including BWOP and health & safety legislation)Experience supporting projects, procurement, and contractor managementThe ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationshipsA current, clean driver's licence (comfortable driving hybrid and electric vehicles)Experience in lease management (desired)About UsAt Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all our people thrive.
