We're in the middle of an exciting business transformation journey at MAS so we can work smarter and deliver better results to our Members.As the Release and Environment Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the technical release, delivery, configuration and management of non-production environments (On-prem and Cloud), ensuring their stability, suitability and efficiency.This role will act as the central governance and co-ordination point for technical release activities across both BAU and a complex technical change programme, and will require working closely with internal teams, vendors and relevant stakeholders across the organisation to ensure seamless provisioning, environment readiness and sequencing across environment, deployment and release activities.If you have expert level experience in planning, executing, and managing software releases in a complex, high change organisation we would love to hear from you.This is a 12-month fixed term position.What your day might look likeDeveloping MAS Non-Production Environment Strategy and being responsible for the Environment deliveryDeveloping Enterprise Release Management Strategy for the MAS non-production environments including the controls and processes required to successfully implementSupport development of Test Data Strategy for sourcing, creation and use of data in non-production environmentsDesign, build, configure and govern non-production environments across cloud and on-premise platformsCo-ordinate complex cross-workstream deploymentsMaintain a central repository of environment documentation, access credentials and configurationsMaintain and co-ordinate a release retrofit schedule ensuring all environments are maintained at the correct code and configuration levelsManage and optimise DevOps activities, including release pipelines and automationWork with Programme and Enterprise resources to ensure the deployment, test and release sequencing activities and dependencies are clearly communicated and understoodWhat we're looking forEnterprise release and environment management experience in a complex setting where there is a regular cadence of significant releases with meaningful impactProven experience leading technical release and deployment activities in complex, integrated environments where there is a blend of legacy Tech and newer cloud based SAAS solutionsGovernance and oversight of all deployment activities into non-Production environmentsProficiency in / familiarity with Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, automated pipelines, AtlassianStrong understanding of software development life cycle, release management and deployment processesGovernance and delivery of adequate and correct non-production environments for Programme testing and acceptance activities to take place across a complex, multi parallel stream change environmentProven experience in a similar senior level role, where you have been responsible for overseeing the technical release, delivery, configuration and management of non-production environmentsExperience with Release Management tools and processes, as well as proficiency in using tools for release planning, tracking, and deploymentAbout usWe're a New Zealand-owned insurance and investment company with a difference.
