Role
We're looking for a strategic and people-focused leader to head our Business Systems and Operations team within the Building System Delivery & Assurance group.
This is a pivotal role that enables the wider business to deliver effectively on its regulatory functions under the Building Act.
Responsibilities
Lead the Business Systems and Operations team, overseeing planning, monitoring, and delivery of business-enabling services.
Develop and maintain a strategic work programme aligned with regulatory and operational priorities.
Manage ICT platforms, vendor relationships, and ensure systems are robust and fit-for-purpose.
Drive continuous improvement, process documentation, and operational projects across the team.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support service improvement and transformation.
Provide strong people leadership, coaching, and capability development to build a high-performing team.
Skills and Experience
Proven strategic and operational management experience at a senior level.
Strong understanding of the building regulatory framework and sector challenges.
Advanced analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills across written, oral, and visual mediums.
Experience in change leadership and embedding continuous improvement.
A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive comparable experience.
Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
