The Opportunity

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Electra in searching for its newly created Field Operations Manager, reporting to the GM Service Delivery.

As Electra continues to grow and evolve, this newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence and develop future capability that will benefit the Horowhenua and Kāpiti regions.

Leading a substantially sized team responsible for construction projects, maintenance, and fault response you'll get to make the most of :

  • A large uplift in capital expenditure and large customer developments
  • Supporting a stable, diverse, and capable Field Operations Team that is embedded within the local community
  • Electra being one team. As an internal function, you and your team will collaborate closely with the Network Team and others
  • A desire to keep evolving, ensuring infrastructure is delivered effectively for the community
  • The backing of an experienced manager and aspirational Executive Leadership Team

The Role

You'll develop your team, manage workflows and resources, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

In ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery across Electra's network your focus will include :

  • Leading planned and unplanned work in coordination with Technical Services and Network Control
  • Supporting the planning, scoping, and costing of capital and customer projects
  • Providing visible leadership, with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring
  • Initiating and supporting change opportunities while fostering adaptability
  • Managing fleet and equipment
  • Overseeing approved subcontractors, maintaining strong working relationships
  • Actively promoting a positive Health, Safety, Wellbeing culture
  • Further, you'll ensure high levels of operational performance through tracking response times, monitoring resource allocation and budgets, and analysing other key metrics.

    About You

    Bringing strong communication skills and proven leadership experience in electricity (distribution or transmission), you will thrive in leading diverse teams and championing continuous improvement.

    Holding a relevant trade, technical or tertiary qualification in electricity, you'll have a solid practical understanding of managing planned and unplanned work.
