This is a pivotal role in ensuring every akonga thrives through inclusive and culturally responsive support systems.
About the role
As our LSC, you will lead the coordination of learning support for students with diverse learning needs across the school.
This includes students who are neurodivergent, those with learning disabilities, behavioural needs, or requiring gifted and talented extensions.
The LSC works closely with teachers, whanau, specialist agencies, and leadership to ensure a coherent approach to support.
You will :
Coordinate targeted interventions and programmes for identified learners.
Support teachers to design and implement differentiated teaching strategies.
Lead professional development and build teacher capability in inclusive practice.
Work in partnership with parents, caregivers and wider whanau to plan and monitor learning support plans.
Collaborate with external agencies such as Resource Teachers : Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), Ministry of Education Learning Support, and others.
Support transition pathways for students into, within, and beyond school.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and inclusive education practices.
Communicates effectively and builds trusting relationships with whanau, staff, and external agencies.
Understands the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and can uphold culturally sustaining practices.
Has strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates leadership capacity, empathy, and a strengths-based approach to education.
