Creative Strategist, Youth Editorial Product (weKaypoh)

Responsibilities

Content Creation

Generate and bring big ideas to life with comfort in digital, social, mobile mediums by

(i) generating story ideas based on news events and

(ii) bring story ideas to life by creating videos

In charge of content production from start to end- ideating, producing, filming and editing

Ensure the quality and appropriateness of digital content by initiating, overseeing and driving creative content direction and ideas

Strike delicate balance with content that is entertaining yet newsy

Produce spreadable innovative and compelling content for a Gen Z centric digital platform targeting Gen Z audience

Monitor the conversations of the day and stay ahead of digital trends

Track and analyse video performance to uncover insights, develop and implement content strategies by reviewing audiences' needs

Ensure all content has a multi-platform approach to maximise the viewer experience

Run day-to-day and end-to-end content creation operations such as establishing content schedule and roadmap

Audience and Partner Engagement

Build brand following and awareness by developing creative content that appeal to the target audience as well as advertisers

Maintain online conversations with social media users

Build relationships with social media influencers, digital content creators, industry professionals, journalists and newsmakers

Qualifications

Diploma / Degree in any related discipline

Ability to create original videos blending news and entertainment

Strong interest in news and current affairs

Familiar with social media platforms and trends e.g. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram

Familiar with Gen Z (born after mid

  • s) lifestyle

Keen interest in the latest trends and a good news sense- able to keep up with trending / viral news

A broad and deep knowledge of digital content and social media trends

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast- paced environment and under pressure

Ability to work independently and in a team

Creative with a questioning mind

An added advantage if you are proficient in filming with DSLR, professional video cameras, editing and graphics software

An added advantage if you are comfortable in front of the camera

An added advantage if you have a proven track record as a creative storyteller

An added advantage if you have a network of local newsmakers
