About the School
Epsom Girls Grammar School, Te Kura Tuarua o Ngā Taitamāhine o Maungawhau, is a school that strives for excellence : in performance, in the connections between people and in its pastoral supports. As a school we have always taken girls’ education seriously and, in all that we do, we seek to grow women of great character. In our kura we value courage, aroha, community, and manawa reka, and these values are woven through our words and our actions – from a governance level through to a classroom and co-curricular level, as well as in informal interactions on campus, and in the community.
We are a large, urban school for girls, with a current role of 2,300 students. Our expert staff teach towards the national qualification, NCEA, and from 2026, will also offer Cambridge International courses and learning (where appropriate). We have a large co-curricular programme of sports, visual and performing arts, cultural expression as well as charity and service opportunities. Our staff are expected to take an active role in supporting the co-curricular programme of the school, by coaching or managing teams and groups.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced educator, expert in supporting neurodiverse and identified learners, to lead as Director of our well-resourced Learning Centre and as SENCO.
This role will be remunerated with either 2 or 3MUs (and 1MMA), depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will bring the skills and dispositions necessary to work with curriculum and pastoral leaders across the school to support diverse learners.
An ability to work with families and external agencies to support our young people would also be an advantage.
