Au Mahi | What You Will Do
You will manage the end-to-end delivery of UC's Minor Capital Works projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline.
This includes overseeing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating procurement activities, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
You\'ll apply your expertise in project management, construction practices, and government procurement rules to deliver high-quality outcomes that support UC's strategic goals.
You are an experienced project manager with at least :
5-6 years of site-based contractor experience, ideally with a carpentry trade background
Delivery of projects in a live tertiary education campus
Client project manager experience including governance reporting requirements
Detailed understanding of scientific laboratory facilities and delivering projects in live laboratory settings including Physical Containment Level 2 spaces (PC2)
5-6 years' experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Strong understanding of project management competencies including scope, time, cost, quality, risk, procurement, and integration
Proven ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders
Practical experience with construction processes and procurement rules
Familiarity with NZS3910, CCCS, and Consultant SFA contracts
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and digital documentation tools
Commitment to UC values, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and health and safety legislation
You will also hold a Trade Certificate, ideally in Carpentry, and a Bachelor\'s Degree (NZQA Level 7) is preferred.
You will be part of the Facilities Management team, reporting to the Minor Works Programme Manager - Capital Development.
You\'ll work closely with the Assistant Director FM - Capital Development and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful projects across UC\'s campuses.
