Salary Range : GSR C $119,376 to $150,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Korero mo te Turanga
As Regional Facilities Manager – Northern, you'll lead facilities operations across sites from Kaitaia to Rotorua.
This is a strategic and hands-on role managing the full lifecycle of leased and owned buildings and infrastructure.
You'll oversee offices, labs, plants, and equipment ensuring safe, sustainable, and fit-for-purpose assets.
Working closely with the National Facilities Manager, you'll lead planning, upgrades, relocations, and maintenance.
You'll collaborate with contractors and technical experts to deliver proactive solutions and responsive site support.
This role offers the chance to lead and shape systems for your region from the ground up and contribute to the National systems with an opportunity to innovate.
You'll work closely with the National Asset Manager and contribute to and support emergency response.
Your work will directly impact how MPI operates, enabling better outcomes for our people and the communities we serve.
You'll be trusted to lead projects, manage budgets, and build strong relationships across a diverse regional footprint.

This role may require overnight travel approximately every two to three months planned in advance.
After-hours work may be required for maintenance, contractor coordination, or an emergency response.
About You - Mou
To be successful in this newly created role, you'll bring hands-on facilities management experience for medium to large businesses, across multiple sites and asset types.
You'll have contributed to build projects as a technical authority with a strong understanding of design and maintenance.
You're confident leading contractors, navigating and learning new tasks and managing operational budgets.
You may come from an engineering or operations background and be ready to step into a role where you can shape systems from scratch.
You'll bring :
You must have a current and full New Zealand driver licence (not temporary, learner, or provisional) or equivalent full foreign driver's licence, and any endorsements required for the type of driving you'll be doing.

About the Team - Mo to matou Ropu
The Property & Assets team sits within our Corporate Services business unit and manages MPI's properties and fleet across Aotearoa.
While the team is spread nationwide, this role focuses on the Northern region from Kaitaia to Rotorua where you'll work across a diverse mix of buildings, including current and new laboratories in Auckland.
You'll be trusted to work autonomously while maintaining strong communication with your manager to stay aligned and seek support when needed.
