You will lead a dedicated, highly focused Health & Safety function and join a high-performing People & Culture leadership team supporting a customer-focused health and safety service for Wellington City Council.

As an agile leader you will thrive in a collaborative environment, welcome different ways of thinking and fresh ideas, and be an experienced Health & Safety practitioner able to actively engage with senior leadership teams to lead the development and implementation of strategies across the health and safety spectrum.
You will help ensure the Health & Safety business partner model thrives, working with business units and partners across the council to uplift health and safety maturity.

ResponsibilitiesLead a dedicated Health & Safety and Wellbeing team to enable healthy, safe, and secure environments for workers, visitors, and the public, while meeting or exceeding legislative and safety management system requirements.Collaborate with the People & Culture leadership team to deliver a customer-focused health & safety function across Wellington City Council.Engage with senior leadership teams to develop and implement health and safety strategies and uplift the council's health and safety maturity.Partner with business units and external partners to sustain the H&S business partner model and provide comprehensive health and safety advisory services.QualificationsProven experience as a Health & Safety practitioner with ability to actively engage with senior leaders and lead strategy development and implementation in health and safety.Demonstrated experience in people leadership and building high-performing teams.DiversityWe want your application to portray the real you.
