We are looking for a full-time Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team, supporting our regional operations and technical disciplines across the Tonkin + Taylor Group.In this role, you'll be a trusted advisor and strategic partner, working closely with leaders and teams to embed a proactive and positive health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) culture.
You'll also collaborate with our national H&S team to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with statutory, industry and client-specific requirements.
You'll be naturally curious, approachable, and bring true care into your work.
The ideal candidate will be a people-person with a knack for building relationships.A requirement of this role is to travel between Tauranga, Hamilton and Auckland on a regular basis to continue fostering strong relationships amongst our teams.
This could mean regular travel, but we want to be flexible for the right candidate.Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and teams on health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring HSW requirements are built into project planning and deliveryDevelop and maintain HSW systems, procedures and risk assessmentsLead incident investigations, manage corrective actions and support the incident management processMentor and support Health & Safety Representatives, Location Representatives and Wellbeing ChampionsOversee contractor and supplier HSW pre-qualification and performance monitoringSupport injury management and return-to-work programmes in collaboration with our Occ Health and Wellbeing teamConduct audits and inspections, identifying and supporting improvement opportunitiesMonitor legislative changes and support WorkSafe liaison when requiredNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & SafetyMinimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in construction, environmental or engineering sectorsStrong knowledge of NZ / Australian HSW legislation, Codes of Practice, and ISO45001ICAM investigation and audit training and experienceExperience with Just Culture or Human and Organisational Performance (HOP)Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisationExcellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong organisational and time management abilitiesA mindset focused on education, empowerment and continuous improvementFull NZ driver's licenceExposure to a variety of professional experts and projectsA highly supportive team environment where you are encouraged to pave your own career pathProfessional memberships and continued education supportA very active social clubFree fruit baskets and morning teasAPPLY NOW!
