Pastry Cook wanted!
Wan Fu Yuan Northcote Ltd is a Auckland based company currently seeking multiple Pastry Cooks to join our team. This is a full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, offering the opportunity to work in a busy kitchen environment。
The role involves preparing, cooking and producing a range of Chinese-style pastries and dough-based products—such as steamed buns, dumplings and handmade dim sum—using commercial kitchen equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook Chinese-style pastry and dough-based items such as steamed buns, dumplings and pancakes according to daily menu requirements.
Measure, mix and knead ingredients using commercial kitchen equipment including mixers, kneading machines, steamers and ovens.
Control cooking time and temperature to ensure stable texture, flavour and quality of all pastry products.
Check the freshness and quantity of ingredients, monitor stock levels and assist with raw material rotation and cost control.
Maintain a clean workstation, keep tools organised and ensure smooth kitchen workflow.
Follow daily production schedules and coordinate with the head chef to meet service needs.
Assist in developing new Chinese pastry products or seasonal specials when required.
Provide guidance or support to junior kitchen staff and collaborate with other kitchen stations during busy periods.
