This full-time role, based in Rosedale, Auckland, is responsible for delivering structured Chinese language and early-years Mathematics lessons to children. The Tutor will provide high-quality, age-appropriate instruction that supports foundational learning, confidence-building, and positive engagement in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities :
Teaching & Instruction
Plan and deliver structured, age-appropriate programmes in Chinese language and early-years Mathematics.
Prepare and present engaging lessons introducing foundational concepts, vocabulary, literacy, numeracy, and practical activities.
Teach both small-group classes and one-on-one sessions tailored to individual needs.
Use interactive and child-centred teaching methods (e.g., games, stories, manipulatives, visual aids).
Assign progressive practice tasks to support the development of core learning skills.
Student Assessment & Support
Monitor each child’s learning using observation, worksheets, activities, and informal assessments.
Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and learning strategies to enhance confidence.
Prepare children for internal evaluations, school readiness milestones, and basic academic assessments.
Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and learning goals.
Curriculum & Material Development
Develop and refine teaching materials, worksheets, flashcards, reading resources, and activity plans.
Ensure all content aligns with early childhood learning principles and NZ Curriculum foundation levels.
Adapt teaching approaches for different learning styles and developmental stages.
Professional Practice & Collaboration
Stay informed about current developments in early-years education, literacy, and numeracy teaching.
Participate in internal training, team discussions, and external professional development as required.
Work collaboratively with teaching colleagues to maintain consistent academic standards.
Parent Communication & Centre Activities
Support centre activities such as open days, cultural events, school holiday programmes, or small student performance sessions.
