Business Development Manager – Commercial

AIG New Zealand is looking for a strategic, relationship-focused professional to grow our broker portfolio. In this role you will analyze broker portfolios, develop tailored business plans, and deliver high-quality service to broker partners while driving sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and strengthen relationships with allocated brokers to identify and maximize growth opportunities.
Conduct broker portfolio analyses and create strategic business plans to meet segmentation, risk, and profitability objectives.
Manage underwriting of new and renewal business for allocated brokers.
Proactively seek new business opportunities and contribute to the strategic direction of broker portfolios.
Collaborate with the Regional Manager and Sales & Underwriting Manager to support the strategic direction of broker portfolios.
Monitor external and internal business environments to identify potential risks or opportunities and recommend proactive strategies.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in commercial.

Experience building relationships within the insurance broker market is preferable.

Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.

Strong business acumen.

High levels of initiative and sound judgement, aside from being a great communicator.
