We provide proven systems and access to award-winning consultants to support our team.What we offerCompetitive pay rateEarly starts & early finishes, usually 6 : 00 am – 3 : 00 pm (to be confirmed)Well equipped kitchenTraining and upskillingGreat staff discounts in café and Mitre 10Role responsibilitiesAs the Café Chef, contribute to the successful running of the kitchenReceive a full induction and training and work confidently unsupervisedPrepare and cook meals as per Columbus Coffee standardsPrepare baked goods for cabinet, ensuring innovation and freshnessCreate seasonal local favourite dishesMaintain productivity, stock control and rotationMonitor and control all food purchasing, purchasing specifications and food stock controlFollow and maintain our high standard of Food Safety complianceIdeal candidate / QualificationsBe a team player with good communication skillsProfessional with high standards and pride in the quality of the foodSolution-focused with ability to manage stressful situations effectivelyConfident with stock control systems, costing food products and food complianceSolid understanding of FCP and H&S in cafésIdeally at least 12 months of experience as a chef in a busy café kitchen with experience in cooking short-order brunch meals and baking to support savoury and sweet cabinet itemsAble to work on a 7-day roster including weekdays, weekends and public holidays as requiredPlease note applicants must be legally able to work in NZ.
