After launching our Auckland office in February 2023, we are continuing to grow, and this role is yet another opportunity to start your journey with Slalom and help us shape the future.We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Strategy capability in New Zealand with a focus on Technology Strategy.What You'll DoYou will draw upon your consulting experience to bring value to organisations, offering insights and guiding clients through strategic technology transformations, focusing on delivering long-term strategic value rather than short-term deliverables (15-18 months+).

Typical expectation of duties over the course of a year (day-to-day focus will vary over time, as projects and pursuits come and go)Pipeline Development (10%) : Work alongside our GTM teams – In Public & Social Impact, Financial Services & Insurance, and Emerging Industries – to identify opportunities, align client needs with solutions, and drive new business with both new and existing clients.Deal Shaping & Sales Activity (30%) : Create tailored proposals, address client concerns, and secure commitments.Delivery to clients (50%) : Lead and contribute as a strategist to client projects that involve strategy, advisory and / or implementation activities.

Complement the deep technical and functional skills of our capability teams with strategic perspective and executive-level influence.Develop others (10%) : Share knowledge, mentor team members, and ensure internal teams are equipped with relevant skills and insights.

Tailor our global frameworks to deliver value to our local clients and road-test with delivery teams.What You'll BringExperience as a Technology Strategy Leader with multiple years of experience, including 5-7 years in an advisory or consulting capacity.Proven ability to combine technology expertise with business strategy, ensuring successful implementation of client solutions.Analyse and address client challenges and business priorities and align them with our solutions and capabilities.Help leverage existing skills and knowledge within our team to enhance client engagement and service delivery.

Bring the best of Slalom to our clientsPrior experience working at consulting firms is preferred.Strong background in digital / technology transformation, ideally with experience across several industries / sectorsLed or delivered strategy as an internal employee or consultant, with experience in any of the following areas : IT Portfolio Management (programs, business applications, infrastructure).

Mergers & Acquisitions, including due diligence and post-merger integration.Formulating and adopting business / tech strategies, including roadmap development.Leading platform & product evaluations, RFPs, and related processes.Designing and creating business cases for Cloud / Digital / AI transformation.Assessing current state technology and business landscape to inform strategy.
