Our pursuit of excellence empowers New Zealand exporters to compete effectively in global markets.About the RolePosition : General Manager – South Island Stevedoring / Marshalling OperationsIn this senior leadership role,you will blend strategic oversight with hands-on leadership across multiple port locations in the South Island with support from four Port Operations Managers (Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin & Bluff).

You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery while fostering strong relationships with customers, port authorities, and internal teams while driving business growth.As part of the executive leadership team, you will contribute to shaping Qube's national operations strategy and drive continuous improvement across the South Island, ensuring alignment with the North Island operations through collaboration with the General Manager Stevedoring and Marshalling- North Island.Location : South Island, New Zealand (specific location to be determined)Key responsibilities include : Supporting Port Operations Managers in the delivery and oversight of stevedoring and log marshalling services across our South Island sitesDriving operational excellence, safety, and compliance across all sitesDeveloping and implementing strategic plans aligned with company goalsBuilding strong relationships with port authorities, customers, and internal stakeholdersOverseeing workforce planning, recruitment, and performance managementEnsuring cost-effective service delivery and continuous improvementCollaborating with other executive leaders to shape business strategyRepresenting Qube Ports NZ in industry forums and regional engagementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have extensive, port logistics, stevedoring and / or log marshalling operations.

Strong leadership and people management skills are also essential, along with commercial acumen and a track record of delivering results.
