What We’re Looking For

Are you an experienced and innovative software engineer ready to lead technical excellence in a dynamic global business? We’re looking for a Technical Lead to join our team – a critical position in EROAD’s New Zealand business, suitable for a highly skilled C# engineer with strong leadership experience, proficiency in backend cloud-native application development, and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

About The Role

As EROAD expands globally, we are seeking a Technical Lead to provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and directly contribute to developing our platforms. This role combines leadership (30–40%) and hands‑on backend engineering (60–70%), working in a self‑managed agile environment. Responsibilities include :

• Providing technical leadership and inspiring engineering excellence.
• Designing and architecting backend features in C# / .NET on Azure.
• Advocating and implementing Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Event‑Driven Development (EDD).
• Driving continuous delivery, automation, and quality measures using DORA metrics.
• Collaborating with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Platform Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Security teams.
• Addressing technical debt and improving performance and scalability.
