Technical Lead – Data

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead – Data to lead the delivery of data solutions for a fast-growing consultancy working with some of New Zealand’s leading organisations. This full-time permanent role is based in Auckland CBD, offering a hybrid working environment.

You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the data strategy, leading a team of specialists, and staying hands-on across solution design and delivery. Your expertise will ensure data platforms are scalable, governed, and built to deliver measurable business outcomes.

In This Role, You Will

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level data solutions using modern platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, contributing hands-on across architecture, modelling, and performance optimisation.
• Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, analysts, and consultants, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to define roadmaps, run discovery workshops, and guide clients on data strategy and delivery.
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security standards are upheld across all solutions and platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to scope, price, and lead delivery of technical solutions.
