We're seeking a Technical Pricing Lead to join MAS and contribute to our future success with your technical expertise in advanced pricing models, predictive analytics, and technical risk assessment. The purpose of this role is to be the subject matter expert and overall responsible for managing and maintaining the end-to-end configuration of the General Insurance products, rating logic and rating tables with our policy administration system (PAS). The role requires strong engagement with the business and multiple third-party providers. If you have a background in data analytics, a general insurance background or potentially a junior actuary with a data analytics mindset, we would love to hear from you! Applications in Wellington and Auckland will be considered.
What Your Day Might Look Like
- Lead and shape our technical pricing function, utilising modelling frameworks and risk assessment tools that deliver measurable business value and keep us ahead in a competitive market
- Manage all of MAS's General Insurance modelling frameworks and manage how premiums are calculated
- Leverage new data sources and predictive modelling techniques to improve accuracy and performance
- Own the ongoing rating and configuration updates and maintenance of the GI products within the PAS; expertise in Excel will translate well with the structure of the system's product and rating module
- Rigorously test and troubleshoot rating and configuration changes, ensuring calculations and logic are accurate and consistent
- Lead the planning and coordination of change release with the IT teams
- Examine and use strong data analysis skills to understand and provide recommendations on the impact of product decisions to the membership

Expertise in statistical and data science programming languages such as SAS and SQLDeep expertise in advanced pricing models, predictive analytics, and technical risk assessmentDeep knowledge of predictive modelling techniques and their practical applicationExperience in change management and proven ability to work autonomously when requiredInterpersonal savvy and ability to build strong relationshipsMust have knowledge of general insurance productsProven experience within general insurance pricingDemonstrated and substantial experience in this specialist pricing area7 years' plus experience within an insurance service role is preferredExperience with Duck Creek or Guidewire is highly desirableAbout Us
