Support a portfolio of projects, and varied internal and external stakeholders.
Assist a varied, interesting work programme that will support the future of the energy market and help enable a net carbon zero future!
As New Zealand's System Operator at the heart of the electricity sector, we operate the power system and connect the generators of electricity with electricity retailers (who on-sell it to consumers) through the wholesale electricity market.
We manage the flow of that electricity across Transpower's high-voltage transmission network to each of the twenty-nine local lines companies that supply individual homes and businesses across their low-voltage networks.
We also carry electricity to large industrial customers connected directly to the national grid.
A key part of our role is to ensure that electricity supply and demand are in balance at all times, and to manage voltage and frequency on the grid to ensure it remains consistently stable enabling New Zealanders access to the electricity they need, every second of every day.
Operations Process & Technology Improvement (OPTI) is a key function in the Operations Division, responsible for identifying capability requirements to support future needs and providing a clear roadmap and investment plan for delivering the necessary capability uplift and business outcomes.
The team manages, delivers, and governs the Operations investment plan, ensuring value for money while achieving strategic objectives.
OPTI also drives efficiencies by proactively identifying and implementing technology and process improvements to meet evolving Operations needs and enabling operations through reliable tools, training, and support.
