We are seeking a proactive, values-led Learning Support and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team in a permanent, full-time role at Carterton School.

Our school vision, “Learning together to achieve success,” underpins everything we do. We are a well‑resourced, full primary kura in the Wairarapa, proudly guided by our values of Mana Motuhake , Manaakitanga , and Kaitiakitanga .

This is a unique opportunity for a practitioner with a passion for equity, inclusion, and student wellbeing.

This role would suit someone who :

• Brings experience or interest in learning support, inclusive practice, and pastoral care
• Can coordinate systems and interventions that support ākonga to thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally
• Builds strong, reciprocal relationships with ākonga, whānau, staff, and external agencies
• Can coach and mentor others, including in‑class support and teacher aide development
• Understands how to use data to identify needs, monitor progress, and evaluate impact
• Models culturally responsive practice and a commitment to success for Māori ākonga as Māori
• Is flexible and adaptable, able to take on a range of responsibilities aligned with school needs
• Is collaborative, organised, and grounded in our school vision and values

You will work as a key link member of the leadership team, with the opportunity to influence schoolwide systems, lead professional learning, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of ākonga.
