Responsibilities
- Learning support coordinator (LSC) role to join Hampton Hill School team. This is a permanent part-time position working one day per week (0.2) . As our LSC, you will be key in ensuring all learners receive appropriate support and enhancing overall learning progress. This role requires you to influence school-wide systems and lift capability in meeting diverse student needs.
- Learners : Understand needs and provide timely, culturally responsive support for learners to thrive and progress. This includes monitoring support impact and adjusting approaches.
- Kaiako (teachers and teacher aides) : Lift staff capability by supporting teachers with specific evidence-based strategies. You will also assist teachers in developing individual learning plans.
- Parents and whānau : Encourage successful partnerships and act as a trusted point of contact to help navigate learning support processes.
- Other LSCs, Ministry staff, and wider agencies : Access services and resources, maintain oversight of individual learner needs.
- School leadership team : Advise on capability development needs, influence school-wide resource decisions, and report regularly on learner data and trends.
Qualifications and experience
Prior recent experience as either a LSC or as a SENCo.A current practising certificate and relevant teaching qualifications.Proven experience supporting learners across primary school year levels.The ability to clearly and respectfully convey information and actively listen across diverse audiences.A strong understanding of the diverse backgrounds and needs of learners and their families, and the ability to respond appropriately.Expertise in recognising and responding to early signs of challenges (learning, behavioural, wellbeing, social, or emotional).Capability in using data and evidence to inform planning and reporting on learning support needs.Strong knowledge of evidence-based learning support strategies and inclusive education practices.How to apply
