System Engineer

Overview

We're seeking system engineers with a great attitude and a genuine passion for technology. We have a number of 18-month fixed-term roles available across multiple teams and units within our Technology & Data directorate and are looking for experienced engineers who are excited about contributing to the NZIC and our mission.

About the roles

Some roles will sit within the Architectural and Capability development branch, architecting, solutioning and implementing some of NZIC's most important platforms and services. The role will involve developing and designing end user compute and service management systems. You will be working in a team that includes a senior technical lead and a networking engineer, with support from the wider Architectural and Capability development branch.

We may also have roles within our Engineering branch. These roles will be suitable for intermediate or senior engineers. As a System Engineer you will design, implement and support systems across our Enterprise for NZIC's important platforms and services.

Within our teams you could be supporting anything from Exchange, Active Directory, our container platform, M365 and many systems in between.

The Architecture and Capability role will be based in Wellington. The Engineering roles can be in Wellington, Auckland or Blenheim.

Who we are looking for

You will need to have experience with :

• IaaS - VMware virtualisation technology
• End User Compute - Horizon Omnissa
• PowerShell and Python
• Windows system administration

While our teams have their specific focuses, we work collaboratively on a variety of projects and initiatives, so the ideal candidate will be adaptable and comfortable working with different technologies and be able to liaise with various stakeholders.

Salary Band : G $87,048 (90%) - $111,228 (115%), Band H $103,009 (90%) - $131,622 (115%), Band I $120,358 (90%) - $153,791 (115%). Midpoint of the salary range (100%) reflects full competence in the role.
