Test Engineer (Mechatronics / Sub-Systems)
SYOS is a pioneering company developing industry-leading utilitarian autonomous vehicles across
air, land, and sea
All our platforms are powered by SYOS' advanced control system, integrating computer vision, swarming, and communication technologies.
We are seeking a
hands-on, multi-talented Mechatronics Test Engineer
to validate our subsystems and ensure our uncrewed systems perform reliably in the toughest environments.
This is a unique opportunity to work across diverse vehicles — from drones to ground and marine robots — and make a direct impact on next-generation autonomy.
Travel will be required.
The Role
As a Test Engineer, you'll play a critical role in planning, executing, and reporting on subsystem tests.
You'll design and set up test rigs, integrate sensors and data acquisition systems, and provide actionable insights that feed directly into design improvements.
Your scope will cover
mechanical, electrical, and propulsion subsystems
— such as
landing gear, engines, tail rotors, main rotor blades, electronics modules, and structural components.
Key Responsibilities :
Test System Setup :
Design and assemble test rigs with the appropriate instrumentation, sensors, and data loggers.
Subsystem Testing :
Validate mechanical and electrical components, propulsion systems, actuation systems, and electronic modules.
Environmental & Durability Testing :
Conduct vibration, thermal, corrosion, and water-ingress testing to simulate real-world conditions.
Data Acquisition & Analysis :
Capture, process, and interpret test data to identify performance trends and issues.
Reporting :
Deliver clear, structured reports and recommendations to the engineering team.
Collaboration :
Work closely with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and drive continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience in
test and validation engineering
(aerospace, robotics, or automotive preferred).
Strong knowledge of
sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
Practical experience with
vibration, fatigue, thermal cycling, and environmental testing
Solid understanding of both
mechanical and electrical subsystems
Skilled in
data analysis and reporting
A proactive problem-solver, able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Experience with
UAS, autonomous ground vehicles, or marine systems
highly desirable.
How to Apply
If you're an experienced and driven Test Engineer ready to take on diverse challenges across air, land, and sea vehicles, we'd love to hear from you.
Join SYOS and be part of shaping the future of autonomous systems.
