Finance Business Partner

OverviewAuckland Council's Financial Advisory unit is looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Financial & Business Performance department.

We're one of the largest financial advisory teams in the country, so this is a brilliant opportunity to become a trusted advisor to a government organisation making a difference in our very own Tamaki Makaurau.As a Business Partner your advice will support to improve financial performance results and ensure financial structures are aligned to deliver organisational strategies.You can expect to focus on Annual and 10-year planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for departments and / or business units and provide performance insights.

Specifically, this role will support our Customer and Community portfolio.Please note this is a fixed term role until April 2027.For a copy of the position description please click hereDay-to-day you can expect to work on : Helping the business understand to promote financially prudent business decisionsReviewing business cases, financial scenario modelling, and providing a commercial lens on contracts, capital projectsHelping develop financial training materials and able to discuss financial topics with people from all walks of life, who are often non-financialLooking for efficiencies process and financial within your business areaAnalysing and interpreting data and being able to tell the storyCoaching business staff to upskill their financial acumenAdhoc e.g., political queries, responding to Local Government Official Information Act requestsAbout youThis position requires experience in similar business partnering positions so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

Ideally you have experience within large and complex organisations.

Experience working in local government would be advantageous.You will ideally have some exposure with Contracts and Asset Management Planning (both from asset and capital planning perspective).
